A visit to Yanbu in Saudi Arabia

When coming to Saudi Arabia for the holy pilgrimage, one usually visits the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah. Why keep it at these two cities when there is so much more to see? We highly recommend a trip to Yanbu while staying in one of our luxury hotels in Saudi Arabia.

This luscious, green oasis is only 200 kilometers away from Madinah. The city itself is located on the coast and has some breathtaking views of the Red Sea. There are plenty of activities to do, so we will get you started with some of our suggestions.

One of the first places to go is Yanbu beach. Here you can go sailing, snorkeling, or do other aquatic sports, but Yanbu is especially renowned for its incredible scuba diving spots. It has some narrow and rocky beaches that lead straight into a beautiful underwater world with perfect visibility. You will see plenty of coral reefs and some spectacular wreck sites. Diving in Yanbu is an incredible experience that will certainly give you the thrill you’re looking for!

After the joy of the beach you can spend the rest of the day in the city. The old part of the city is very well preserved and it will feel like taking a trip back in time. The ancient desert buildings and traditional Bedouin architecture will amaze you. A couple of centuries ago, Yanbu used to be an economic hotspot on the spice and incense route, from Yemen to Egypt.

You can finish your trip by going to Al Balad, the modern part of the city. This is where you want to be if you want the huge shopping malls and new modern architecture. You can go on a shopping spree or simply try some of the typical Saudi restaurants.
